1) What is MVHR servicing?
MVHR or mechanical ventilation with heat recovery is a heat recovery system designed to refine the air quality inside your home. The system uses a mechanical ventilation component which removes any old or stale air from locations such as your bathroom or kitchen. The second part of the system is a heat recovery unit which takes any heat energy from the extracted stale air, this heat energy can then be used to warm incoming air.
At Quality electrician I provide a bespoke MVHR service to make sure your system is long lasting, safe and efficient.
Back to top2) Tell tale signs you need an MVHR service
There are some signs which indicate an MVHR service at your Bradford property is due. Look out for the following:
- Unusually noisy system
- Build up of odour in the bathroom or kitchen
- Condensation or excess water droplets on window panes
3) What happens during a MVHR service?
There are a number of steps I carry out during an MVHR service.
This requires witching off power at the mains and isolating the unit to keep myself and the property safe.
A thorough cleaning or intake and extract filters is then carried out alongside cleaning the heat exchanger core.
I will then inspect the validity of the fan blades and motor to identify signs of wear and tear and the build up of grime.
After cleaning the condensation drain and internal fans, I can then progress to check any ducts and connective pipework to make sure there are no obstructions.
Once all components mentioned above are inspected and cleaned, O can then assemble the system and conduct operation tests to make sure the MVHR system is working.
Back to top4) Benefits of MVHR servicing in Bradford
By having your MVHR system at your home serviced annually, you can ensure the system lasts longer, futureproofing your home for years to come. This means the internal environment in your home will be cleaner and free of pollutants and small particulates.
Regular servicing of your MVHR will also mean that grime, dirt and dust will not build up within the system causing more severe faults later down the line. You can also prevent the build up of excess condensation and mold growth which is associated with moisture in the home.
Many components within electrical systems such as an MVHR can degrade over time due to general wear and tear. Regular servicing will help identify any small scale replacements you might need prior to the whole system becoming affected.
With an efficient MVHR system through regular servicing, you can reduce energy bills as your MVHR system will be releasing less wasted energy.
